Brutal is 100% Verdejo, with seven months of skin contact in clay jars before spontaneous fermentation. It then spent another six months in clay and four months in bottle.
The fruit was immediate: ripe pear and stone fruit, with plenty of juice and freshness. The long skin contact gave it body, texture, and a dry bitterness on the finish, but never made the wine feel heavy.
What stood out was how easy it was to drink. It had the grip expected from an orange wine, while keeping the freshness and directness of the fruit.
