Les Frères Mignon’s Cumières 2020 is a Pinot Noir-led blend with Chardonnay and Meunier, the three varieties pressed together. From the south-facing Premier Cru village of Cumières, it was released with no dosage.
The nose was delicate and very fresh, led by cherry, with citrus and a light biscuit note. In the mouth, the mousse was exceptionally creamy and the bubble fine and elegant.
The acidity was well integrated and made the wine salivating. Despite the zero dosage, it never felt severe. We drank it with sushi and sashimi, which suited its freshness and creamy texture particularly well.
