Le Village des Amoureux comes from La Grange de l’Oncle Charles, the estate Jérôme François and Morgane Stoquert farm in Ostheim. It blends Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Auxerrois and Muscat from biodynamically farmed vines on granite, ploughed by horse. The estate ferments with native yeasts in Burgundian barrels, ages on the lees and bottles without fining or filtration.
Brine and stone fruit, with propolis and a mineral edge. It was very elegant and fresh, the acidity well integrated: a delicious, brilliant wine, full of life.
We drank it at home with a chicken pastilla.
